Go Ahead Seniors Inc. is a non-profit organization who’s goal is to offer educational programs to all older adults in New Brunswick regardless of their social, cultural and economic status. Aîné.e.s en marche/ Go Ahead Seniors Inc. is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
 

History

From its inception, the organization has led numerous projects and programs whose primary objective has been to identify and meet the needs of the 50 plus population in New Brunswick. From 1989 to the present, Aîné.e.s en marche / Go Ahead Seniors Inc., managed or were involved with the following programs and projects :
 
1991-1996  –  Leadership skills program
1992-1993  –  No To Loneliness project
1993  –  Healthy Active living Program for Older adults
1994  –  Initiative between the Government of Canada and the Voluntary Sector
1997-1998  –  Working Together - Determinants of Health
1999-2000  –  Strong face of age
1999-2002  –  In support of shifting sands challenges facing Atlantic Canada
2001-2003  –  Generation gaps that exist between generations
2001  –  Lifelong learning study group
2002  –  The art of networking: extending the Atlantic seniors health promotion network
2002  –  Brief presented to the Romannow Commission
2002  –  Canadian learning in Volunteer & Community sector.
2002  –  Creation of a partnership in Health Promotion research
2002-2004  –  Watch your step
2002-2004  –  Develop a kit on Type 2 diabetes
2005  –  Complete revision of the Edukit and creation of a volunteer handbook
2008  –  Developed a new module Understanding Hearing Loss
2009-2010  –  Developed 2 new modules: Senior Abuse & Neglect and Seniors & Fraud

The Healthy Active Living program relies on volunteers for the promotion of its educational modules developed for the 50Plus population.
